What does “hometown” mean anyway? The place you live now? The place you feel like you “grew up”? The place you lived the longest? I guess I feel like I have two hometowns.
First…
Redwood City, Ca. This is where I remember my childhood and where I started to become the person I am today. I have fond memories of playing in the street (something I rarely see kids do these days…damn I feel like I’m a 70 year old lady talking here) and being able to walk to Red Morton and Key Market. It’s also the place that my family was more of a typical looking family; Mom, Dad, kids. Which for some reason makes me feel like it’s my hometown.
Half Moon Bay, Ca. My current home and the place I feel most “at home”. I finally appreciate Half Moon Bay for what it has to offer and don’t mind driving over a mountain twice a day at all.
